His “Vision for Arewa,” Hannatu Musawa explains why she joined Tinubu’s campaign

Deputy spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Organization, Hannatu Musawa has fired back at Naja’atu Muhammad who, shortly after resigning as Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign coordinator, revealed that the APC presidential candidate had no any plan to develop Northern Nigeria.

In an interview with ARISE TV, Malama Hannatu Musawa explained that it is not true that Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not have a plan to develop Arewa (Northern Nigeria). According Hannatu Musawa, it is Tinubu’s vision for the North that motivated her to join his presidential campaign.

“I had a discussion with him, I sat down with him, and he sort of opened up about his vision for Nigeria,” she said.

She added that Tinubu possesses the same vision she had for Arewa. “I spoke to him about issues of out of school children and the almajirai, and he spoke to me about to his interest to get as many children, especially from northern part of the country, back in school. He speaks so well about agriculture. Agriculture is the bane of the North,” she explained.

Hannatu Musawa added that Tinubu has a well-articulated blueprint to develop agriculture in northern part of the country as he hopes to come up with new ideas and robust policies to revamp agricultural production in the region which is one of the keys to eradicating poverty. She denied Naja’atu Muhammad’s accusation in categorical words, saying Tinubu spoke to her personally about his vision for the region.

“I wouldn’t be supporting Tinubu if I had any question about his mental capacity,” she added, saying Tinubu remains the best candidate to lead Nigeria.

“Asiwaju remians one of the most cerebral and in-touch people I have been able to talk to. I have been able to learn so much from him,” Hannatu Musawa said.

Naja’atu Muhammad resigned from the APC last week, and accused the APC’s candidate of a cavalier attitude towards the need to develop northern Nigeria despite personally speaking to him several times, including their meeting in London. In a series of outbursts last week, Naja’atu Muhammad claimed Bola Ahmad Tinubu did not have the mental capacity to lead Nigeria which drew rebukes from the ruling party that accused her of incompetence and insubordination.
