A Non-Governmental Organisation, the Ior Gboko Foundation, has condemned the recent spate of killings in Benue State, particularly Yelewata, where scores of indigenes were exterminated last weekend.

The Foundation also consoled with the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the good people of Benue State and, in particular, the families of the deceased farmers.
In the statement, Dr. Ajim further called on the State and Federal authorities to do the needful urgently to prevent further massacre of the people and grant the necessary succour to the survivors to rebuild and start life.
Over 200 unarmed residents of Yelwa village in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State were massacred in their sleep by armed bandits who stormed the community in the early hours of Saturday.
Both Governor Alia and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have condemned the spate of violent attacks on defenceless Benue farmers by persons suspected to be herdsmen.
