Prof. Bogoro eulogizes the virtues of Late Dr. David Ayo Abifarin.

Just Prof. S.E Bogoro attended the funeral of Late Dr David Ayo Abifarin on February 4th 2025 in his hometown in Kwara State, a pioneer member of Gindiri Old Students Association GOSA Set 1955 who doubles as its first medical doctor from the University Of Ibadan. The late veteran medical practitioner graduated in in the year 1955 with the likes of the late prominent J. D Gomwak first governor of Venue state, Prof Onazi, Yohanna and other assets produced by Gindiri in many years to come.

Prof. Bogoro acknowledged many remarkable contributions by Dr David Ayo Abifarin in the field of medicine especially on genetics and breeding.

Prof. Bogoro highlighted Dr. Abifarin’s pioneering spirit, dedication, and commitment to providing quality healthcare services not only in Kwara State but the country in general,  Prof. Bogoro also laid so much emphasis on the significance of Dr. Abifarin’s achievements, Prof. Bogoro said, Dr Abifarin personified everything the missionaries taught in Gindiri. While alive, Dr. Abifarin won so many national and international laurels at all stages of his life. Prof. Bogoro recalled how the deceased was carefully and meticulously chosen to deliver the first distinguish lecture of GOSA, as guest speaker. 

The veteran academic and administrator said the deceased made giant strides in genetics and breeding, with practice in Samaru Zaria and to the global stage at the International Treaty for Tropical Agriculture (ITTF)  highlighting only the best are qualified to be employed at that stage and it is strictly on merit and the deceased fits into this description.

Prof. Bogoro highlighted three pillars of things that is learnt in Gindiri which are; Reflection of excellence, integrity and humility, according to Prof Bogoro, the deceased epitomizes that.

Prof Bogoro later said, Dr. Abifarin paved the way for future generations of medical professionals from Gindiri and beyond. His legacy serves as an inspiration to those pursuing careers in medicine, demonstrating the importance of perseverance, hard work, and a passion for helping others.

While alive Dr David Abifarin upheld, ethical principles and professionalism.

At the final interment site, while speaking to Kwara State Television, Prof Bogoro said the deceased legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future generations of medical professionals.
