The newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has promised to strengthen Nigeria’s global clot and its regional role around the world as he unveiled a roadmap dubbed 4D diplomacy which stands for Democracy, Development, Demography and Diaspora.
The minister made the pledge at the reception and welcome event at the Nigerian Foreign Ministry on 21st August, 2023 in Abuja.
He said throughout its history, the Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs “has for long be represented by the highest stand of excellence and it is our job to these stands never fail,” he said.
The 4D diplomacy is a 4-point foreign policy strategy that aims to increase the areas where Nigeria would play more active roles on the global stage.
Attended by foreign dignitaries, diplomats, Nigerian ambassadors and heads of missions around the world, the new minister calls on the international partners to cooperate in order to put Nigeria where it belongs when it comes to “regional and global decision making.”
