Tuggar calls for unity as Nigeria marks Independence Day

The Nigerian Minister of foreign Affairs, His Excellency Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has called on Nigeria to keep faith with President Bola Tinubu as he moves ahead with his vision for a more prosperous and united Nigeria.

In a statement to mark Nigerian Independence Day released by the Special Adviser to the minister on Media and Strategic Communications, Alkasim Abdulkadir, the Nigerian top diplomat assures Nigerians that the Tinubu administration is working hard to actualize the 4D strategy that aims to foster “Political stability, Development -catalyzing economic prosperity, Diaspora: nurturing a global Nigerian community; and demography, harnessing the power of a youthful nation.” the statement said.

The statement added that Nigerians should desist from exhibitions of negative emotions such as “Hate and divisiveness that can undermine the country’s unity and progress.” He called on Nigerians at home and abroad to team up irrespective of their socio-cultural background in order to make Nigeria great.

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar felicitates with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and the citizens of Nigeria on the occasion of the 63rd Independence Anniversary Celebration.


The Honourable Minister called on Nigerians to keep faith with President Tinubu’s administration as he gears the country towards the entrenchment of democracy and sustainable development. He also called on Nigerians to use the occasion to reflect on the steady progress being made to see themselves as critical stakeholders of the Nigerian Project and to rally support for the attainment of Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.


Ambassador Tuggar also reiterated the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure the successful realization of President Tinubu’s 4D strategy. The 4D strategy also known as the Tinubu Doctrine pivots on four pillars, Democracy: fostering political stability, Development -catalyzing economic prosperity, Diaspora: nurturing a global Nigerian community; and demography, harnessing the power of a youthful nation.


He also urged Nigerians to eschew hate and divisiveness that can undermine the country’s unity and progress. He further stated that the quest for nation-building is a collective responsibility, and all well-meaning Nigerians at home and abroad must join hands in strengthening the resolve to build a sustainable prosperous nation that Nigerians irrespective of their socio-cultural and political leanings would be proud of.
