Umar Bago and the burden of leading Niger State

By Isah Aliyu Chiroma

Realizing the future we want always seems daunting, in my opinion. Although it alarmed me and others, we must awaken from our nightmares in order to paint a clear picture of a brand-new Niger state. We had to take control of our destiny and choose the leaders we wanted, so we could not avoid what we desire. That is what the election offers, and we will be witnessing a new governor for a new Niger state.

It has been evident from the transition committee established by the newly elected governor, Umar Muhammad Bago, that a big move has been taken towards a reform. The Governor-elect is someone who is willing to change and bring a new atmosphere to Niger, as you can see by looking at the committee members. These committee members are a collection of intellectual giant minds who will be instrumental in shaping history. Because the past cannot be changed, it should be reflected in the present to help us build the future we want. A promising future that holds the potential to improve our circumstances.

Although the Niger state of my dream is vast and we may travel farther than I can imagine, let me begin at the part where I am most eager to see something occur. My own experience has convinced me that we must go back to the very beginning of time in order to bring about change and create the society of our dreams. Our dream is measured by Niger’s status as a developing state. A state which will succeed despite these obstacles in the pursuit of excellence, where 21st-century concepts will become a means of bridging gaps and turn the state into an icon of excellence.

A great leader who can guide the state and propel it toward greatness is the new Niger of our dream. A state that pays attention to several crucial economic sectors on which it can rely. Great leaders influence their society and have some aptitude for growth-related processes and problem-solving, which will help them overcome obstacles in the pursuit of excellence. A visionary leader is necessary to lead a population because there are many different forms of leadership. A leader who will create an environment that will influence humanity, life, and history by his shrewdness, intelligence, and leadership abilities. As we want a leader who will not only affect the present but also the future.

One of the major needs for a Niger of our dream, is given importance to education as it is our ticket to the future, which cannot be overstated. This industry requires significant investment, where facilities and learning resources should be made accessible to everyone. Above all, make sure that everyone can access education, and not just education, but high-quality education. This will significantly help to shape the next generation; education is a light that will guide humanity towards greatness in the future. No society will advance without education, and no other development can be sustained since those who benefit from initiatives that would improve their lives will ultimately act as destructors.

We need to make significant changes to the health sector so that we can offer top-notch care and be accessible to people, not only in Niger state, but throughout the world. This will pave the path for fresh economic growth in the state. Health is wealth, but a good healthcare system can help our economy expand by luring in international investment and providing the services that will set us apart from the competition. Some of our population visits industrialized nations in search of high-quality healthcare, and those people are in charge of improving our healthcare system. In order for visitors to visit our country in the long run, we need those things that distinguish them from us and have them in our proximity.

People’s lives and property must be safeguarded because a nation without peace will not be able to support the development of humanity. A society that lacks peace will be destroyed, making it impossible for any future development or transformation to take place there. It can be challenging to skip through our past of panic and fear when trying to recall our recollections. We always imagine ourselves living in a tranquil society where we are free to roam around and go about our daily lives without having to worry. We will have mental tranquility as a result, allowing us to cultivate our dreams without being disturbed. a peaceful country with a hospitable environment for humanity and progress.

With the use of biotechnology, we can readily produce genetically modified plants and organisms in our agricultural sector that we may employ to meet our demand for meat and dairy products. We can also create enhanced seed varieties that will benefit both farmers and the nation as a whole. This will enable the farmer to quickly grow his crops and get a good yield. The same is true for other agricultural fields we can devour, such as fish farming. Our body system requires fish since it has a high protein content and low cholesterol. This industry requires significant investment in order for us to gather vast quantities of fish and even export them to nearby states. By leveraging our extensive water resources and regulating them by enacting sea regulations to safeguard the fish and enable them to spawn more naturally without being captured by poachers.

Farmers who can easily acquire fertilizer at a reasonable price would benefit most from growing. This will be crucial in enhancing their farming techniques, especially for those moving to areas where the soil is insufficiently fertile and needs to be improved. Another crucial tool a farmer needs to keep up with the new agricultural generation and meet consumer demands is improved variety.

The majority of the population is made up of young people. A society that will give people opportunities and lower the unemployment rate is what we need. a society in which each home can afford three full meals every day. Hunger is a deadly sickness that kills without warning. Giving people access to food will lower the number of crimes committed in the state. A strategic plan must be created to limit the population’s growth, not just to contain and control it but also to establish provisions where youth would receive special attention. For example, investing in small business owners to help them become self-sufficient and care for their families.

We envision a new period in which younger generations actively foster innovation and development, pay attention to creativity, and give people the tools they need to realize their ideas. Innovation and creativity are crucial abilities for the progress of society. They will be given and shaped to have those skills and to utilize them in their thinking and problem-solving through the education sector that is invested.

A new Niger state where everyone is given the same chances to work hard and receive rewards in accordance with their labor. This will serve as a driving force and a guide for the next generation as they envision and become ready to create the future they want. In our ideal society, the government will support the next generation by giving them the resources they require to see their goals and work toward realizing them.

Every society is governed by some hidden laws which are unspoken, but profound assumptions of the people. When we find leaders who will find out and understand what those laws and assumptions are, they will steer the ship towards future greatness and achieve a new Niger State of our dream. In this struggle to intertwine the vision of the old Niger state and the new Niger state, the Governor elect is a visionary leader, who will be the strong pillar that can hold us firm and see a new Niger state of our dream coming to reality.
