On Saturday the 31st of December 2022, it was a beehive of activities at The Labour Party Secretariat in Bauchi as party faithfuls, civil society groups, trade unions, Labour unions, artisans, farmers, youths, Men, women, the old and the youths troop out enmass to witness the Inauguration of the presidential campaign council and oath of allegiance by members of the campaign council.
In his welcoming address, the State Party Chairman Barr. Hussaini Saraki welcomed everyone and charged all those appointed into the presidential council to ensure they work at the grassroot levels labour party emerges victorious in all polling units across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state. He equally congratulated all those appointed and promised to carry everyone along in the state.
The State Coordinator of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council Rev Joshua Ray Maina announced the names of all the members of the state presidential campaign council and Dr Abubakar Abdulrahman was appointed Chairman of the Bauchi State presidential campaign council of the Labour Party alongside 46 other members holding different offices to perform different responsibilities but with synergy amongst themselves inline with the Obi-Datti vision and mission statement of rescuing Nigeria from brink of collapse and moving it from consumptive economy to productive economy.
The State Coordinator later inaugurated a 123 member council for Local Government Coordinators.
Administering the oat of office, Shamsudeen Magaji LLB, LLM, PhD admonished them to abide by the constitution of the Labour Party. He later issued out a letter of of appointments to all the members of the presidential campaign council to the delight of the crowd.
There were musicians and other entertainers who kept the event lively and sang in solidarity to the Obi-Datti presidential ambition.
In their closing remarks, the state party chairman, the state Coordinator and the Presidential Campaign Council Chairman expressed their profound gratitude to the Obi-Datti loyalist otherwise known as the OBI-dients to remain law abiding, vote for competence over primordial sentiments, which to them Mr Peter Obi and Dr Yusuf Datti epitomizes.
They closed the occasion by launching the maiden edition of OBI-dient Bulletin Initiative (Obi) a magazine publication by the state excos, the Coordinator’s office and the office of the chairman of the state Presidential Campaign Council with many launching it at the venue.
The Bauchi South Zonal Chairman Pastor Joshua Sunday closed the occasion with word of prayer.
