Uplifting women through empowerment: Better Life Programme for African Rural Women as an example

Must read

It is a well-known fact that there are millions of women in Africa who are suffering from a myriad of socioeconomic challenges from all walks of life, ranging from domestic violence, sexual violence, inequality, and extreme poverty. These among other challenges have made it difficult to come up with a realistic policy to change the narrative.

It is against this backdrop that Better Life Programme for Rural Women, an organization that focuses on empowering women, surprised struggling mothers with food, and grinding machines to make sure the beneficiaries can stand up on their feet, and eventually become economically strong enough to fend for themselves.

The beneficiaries were so emotional that some of the women were left with no option but to shed tears because they never expected a moment like this.

Uplifting vulnerable women.

Doing something is better than doing nothing. As long as women are encouraged to work, help source another source of income to keep the household running, and look after the kids, women would one day be able to stand on their feet.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Daily Review Newspaper congratulates women from all around the world.
