Buhari man of discipline, honour – MWUN

Must read

Mr Francis Bunu, the President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), has described the late former President Muhammadu Buhari as a man of discipline and honour.

Bunu made the description in a condolence message issued by MWUN’s Head of Media, Mr John-Kennedy Ikemefuna, on Tuesday in Lagos.

He commiserated with the Federal Government over the death  of Buhari,  Nigeria’s immediate former President,  who died on Sunday in London at the age of 82.

According to Bunu, Buhari was a man of discipline, vision and incorruptible character.

“Buhari is a man of honour and integrity, with a strong passion for the unity of Nigeria, believing that under his watch as President, Nigeria must remain one very strong and progressive indivisible entity.

“He may mean a lot to different groups of people and individuals in the country, but the truth remains that Buhari was a transparent leader, whose love for the country cannot be over-emphasised.

“He might have had his flaws as a human, but that doesn’t mean that Buhari did not mean well for the citizenry and the country in general,” he said.

The veteran seafarer called Nigerians to mourn with the Federal Government, the Government of Katsina State and the people of Buhari’s home town, Daura, and his entire immediate and extended families.

According to him, it is hopeful that the remains of the late President was accorded a befitting state burial, in accordance with Islamic rights.

The maritime expert prayed that the Almighty grant rest to the soul of the late president and grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
