The Council of Ministers Wednesday decided to open a Bulgarian consulate in the Federal Republic of Nigeria headed by an honorary consul headquartered in Lagos. The consulate will service the territory of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Cross River, and Anambra, Bulgarian News Agency reports.
Appointed as Bulgaria’s honorary consul is Nigerian national Achike Charles Umunna. He has worked as junior advisor in the cabinet of the Federal Minister of Defence, legal advisor at the National Assembly, and representative of Nigeria to the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris. He manages one of the biggest law firms in Lagos, specializing in international commercial arbitration and international commercial law, and is on the boards of directors of several commercial companies. He has been legal representative in Nigeria of many Bulgarian companies.
