Christmas Carol of Lessons held in Gwarinpa, Abuja

Must read

St. Philips Anglican Church, Gwarinpa has organised a Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons and lighting of Christmas tree in Abuja.

The vicar, reverend canon Ovie Ezimeruwe, while delivering his sermon, “light for your night” the Gospel which was the ninth lesson and taken from the book of John 1-8 “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God” urged Christians to obey and honour God at all times, adding that the birth of Jesus Christ was to dispel darkness and sins

“The people that sat in darkness have seen a great light and unrepentant sinners continually live in darkness until they repent and accept God’s light”

Psalm 23:4 though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not be hurt

Therefore, if you accept Gods light in your heart, you will walk through all of life’s problems unfazed with an assurance of victory.

Rev’d canon Ovie enjoined Christians to abide by the commandments of God and refrain from sin and rededicate their lives in the service of God and humanity.

The carol also had special presentations from all the groups in the church, both men and women with the children from the Sunday school.

The choristers serenaded the congregation with soulful hymns and Christmas songs and a candle procession for silent night.
