The Katsina State Government has pledged to settle medical bills and expenses for the nine victims of the Sunday evening road accident that involved Gov. Dikko Radda’s vehicle.
This is contained in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr Bala Salisu-Zango, on Monday in Katsina.
He said that the accident occurred when a private Sharon Volkswagen vehicle hit the vehicle carrying the Governor and two other persons on Daura-Katsina road, near the School of Health Technology, Daura.
It would be recalled that the governor was together with his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman-Nasir and one other person when the accident occurred.
He is currently at home under observation to make sure that everything is fine, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed.
The commissioner said that two out of the nine passengers inside the private vehicle got simple fractures, while the other seven sustained various degrees of injuries.
“They are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Daura.
“A delegation from the Katsina State Government led by the Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Culture, Dr Bala Salisu-Zango had since visited the victims.
“Their condition is very well improving.
“The state delegation assured the victims of the state governments commitment to settling all their medical bills and expenses,” he assured.
The commissioner said that the victims and their relatives expressed appreciation to the state government for the concern and compassion accorded to them.
