The Senate resumed Tuesday from its annual recess, but adjourned plenary shortly in honour of late Senator Ifeanyi Uba who passed away on 27 July 2024.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, after reading a letter from the Clerk of the Senate, Chinedu Akabueze on formally notification of the demise of the Anambra senator, asked for one minute silence in his honour.
The Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central) moved a motion, in line with the tradition of the Senate and the National Assembly at large, said Senate should adjourn plenary and suspend all other businesses in honour 9f the late colleague.
Therefore, the Senate President announced that the Senate stands adjourned to Wednesday September 25, 2024.
