Abuja, Nigeria – The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully restored bulk electricity supply to the national grid through its 132 Kilo Volt (kV) Owerri-Ahoada transmission line.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, confirmed that the line was reconnected to the grid on April 11 at approximately 6:00 PM. This follows the completion of reconstruction work necessitated by the vandalism of four transmission towers (Towers 71–74) on March 11.
With this restoration, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) can now resume power supply to Bayelsa and parts of Rivers State, which had experienced prolonged outages due to the damage.
Mrs. Mbah reiterated TCN’s commitment to ensuring reliable power transmission nationwide and urged communities to collaborate in safeguarding critical infrastructure against vandalism.
