The Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has received the president of ECOWAS, H.E. Dr. Omar Touray & his team on a courtesy visit today, 22nd Aug. 2023.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ECOWAS president was at the ministry on a curtesy visit to the new Foreign Minister who assumed office on August, 21, 2023.
Daily Review learned that Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has vowed to confront the geopolitical issues in the regional block as military coups and presence of foreign mercenary threaten the stability of the Sahel region.
It could be recalled that Daily Review reported that Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar unveiled 4D diplomatic drive which aimed to prioritizes democracy, development, demography and diaspora in Nigeria’s new foreign policy doctrine. The unfolding events in West Africa is a serious matter that was discussed during the visit by the ECOWAS president, Dr. Omar Touray.

The Nigerian Foreign Ministry vowed to work with members of the block on various projects of regional importance.
