The governor of Bauchi Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has been condemned for ignoring hardship in his state, Bauchi by claiming that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu was solely responsible for the economic hardship in Nigeria.
Soon after the public criticism, the governor came under fire for ignoring the plight of his own people in Bauchi.
In an interview with Daily Review Newspaper, a Bauchi-based public affairs analyst, Honorable Kunde has slammed the governor for creating an artificial hardship which has worsened the suffering of the people in the state, making Bauchi one of the most expensive states in the country.
“The fact is Governor Bala Muhammad does not have the moral authority to lecture Tinubu on economy let alone he criticize his leadership direction.” He said.
“It is noteworthy that Governor Bala Muhammad received billions of naira directly from the Federal Government, and he has so far failed to showcase any tangible socioeconomic program that has added value to the lives of Bauchi people. His policy has rather destabilized the state’s economy, and the locals who mostly rely on petty businesses have their sources of livelihood revoked by the ongoing construction in the state because they have lost their businesses overnight.”
Honorable Kunde also called on the governor stop capitalizing on the public sentiment to mislead the public because this is not the right time to disguise his sheer failures.
“Governor Bala should focus on governance in his own state because Bauchi state is not a commercial state, and so a lot of things are not going well. He should look for a succour for farmers, households and healthcare and many key sectors that are underperforming in his administration.” He said.
He added that these monstrous challenges are enough to demoralize him from pointing annaccusing finger at President Bola Tinubu.
“In Bauchi metropolis, there are schools without chairs. The health care sector is under pressure because enough is not being done to support the sector. So Bala Muhammad should not have engaged in national issues in the first place.”
Governor Bala Muhammad has recently drawn mixed reactions for claiming during a rally in Bauchi that the economic hardship in the state was worsened by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, with many people accusing him of seizing on the recent nationwide protest to accuse the president of excerbating the current economic hardship in the country.
The Federal Government has publicly stated that the removal of fuel subsidy is in the best interest of Nigeria which has allowed the government to save money and reinvest them in various programs that would create opportunities for millions of Nigeria.
The Federal Government also assured people that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu’s economic policies would rejig Nigerian economy and create an enabling environment to boost local productivity in agriculture, creative economy, ICT and real estate sectors.
