Ex-Senate President, Ken Nnamani, said, yesterday, that voting the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, in the 2023 general elections would benefit Ndigbo, stressing that he has the capacity to rule Nigeria.
Nnamani, who spoke in the presence of immediate past Enugu Chairman of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye, a veteran politician, Gbazueagu Gbazueagu, among others, stated that Tinubu has all it takes to lead the nation to its expected destination.
Speaking at the official inauguration of the Enugu State local councils Independent Campaign Council (ICC), for Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign, Nnamani, who is the grand patron of the group, said he has known Tinubu for a long time, adding that he has taken time to prepare for the number one job.
He, therefore, called on the South East and Nigerians to cast their votes for him on election day, assuring that they won’t regret doing so if he is elected.
He said the manifesto of the candidate would benefit Ndigbo anywhere they are in Nigeria.
He said: “Tinubu is well known to us, and that is why we are supporting him.” Nnamani, therefore, challenged the inaugurated councils’ officials of the campaign group to go back to their respective councils and begin aggressive campaigns for the APC presidential candidate.
He noted that the event was a serious business, “because politicking has its engine room at the ward and council levels; hence, party leaders must always take issues concerning their areas seriously ahead of any election.”
He also urged members of the party in the state to remain committed and steadfast in the Tinubu presidential project, assuring that they would reap after sowing.
Nnamani harped on the need for the party, at all levels, to keep building bridges across the country.
Speaking to journalists at the end of the event, Nwoye, who is the ICC Director of Contact and Mobilisation, described Tinubu as “a unifying rallying point.”
According to him, the 2023 presidential ticket of Tinubu and Kashim Shettima has re- unified Enugu APC.
Nwoye said: “We have all agreed, irrespective of individual differences, that we should come together and support the APC presidential candidate.”
“Today, our leader, Nnamani, has urged us to work for Tinubu-Shetima ticket.”
