Following his urgent intervention to alleviate the hardship caused massive flooding that affected Gamawa, Giade and Shira local government areas of Bauchi, residents of the affected areas have thanked His Excellency, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar for coming to the rescue of flood victims in Bauchi with relief materials and financial assistance worth over 20 million naira.
Abdullahi Ismail, a resident of Gadanya, the worst affected area of the flood, said the support “given to us by Honorable Tuggar is one of the biggest donations we have received since the flood displaced hundreds of homes and disrupted our economic activities.” He told Daily Review
He further stated that the intervention is an indication that despite the exigency of work, the minister has not forgotten his people.
“Tuggar is our son, and I was surprised that he was able to personally visit us at this hard time,” said Muhammad Dauda a retired teacher and a victim of the flood in Shira local government.
“I am really grateful to Honourable Tuggar for supporting me with money and food. It is the biggest support I have ever received in my life.” He told Daily Review
It could be recalled that Honorable Yusuf Maitama Tuggar recently paid a visit to the Gamawa, Giade and Shira Local Government Areas of Bauchi where he donated over 20 million naira and also donated noodles, a truck of rice and detergents as a show of solidarity to the victims.

The Minister also extended his deepest condolences to the entire people of Gamawa, Giade, and Shira, assuring them that there was an effort in place by the Federal Government to further provide necessary support and aid to help them recover and rebuild their lives.
According to the spokesperson of the Minister, Alkasim Abdulkadir, Tuggar emphasized the need for others to extend a helping hand by supporting the victims.
“We must come together to help our brothers and sisters in need,” the minister said.
