The Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, has urged his Spokesman, Mr Eseme Eyiboh and his siblings to emulate the good legacies of their late mother, Mrs Grace Eyiboh.

Akpabio made the call while speaking at the funeral of the late Eyiboh at Akpautong in Esit Eket Local Government Area on Saturday.

Represented by Yemi Adaramodu, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Akpabio, described the deceased as a woman of virtue and compassion.

The senate president said that the late Eyibo who died at the age of 90, left behind indelible footprints for her children and the wider community to follow.

“Although she enjoyed longevity, the loss of such a caring mother precipitates grave emotions, especially when the memories of her love and the bond you shared are contextualized.

“She had an intriguing history of hope and faith. As an entrepreneur with vast business acumen, she used her earnings to support her husband in training the children.

“The result is the success that you have all made, it obviously points to sterling upbringing. Remember that it is what you put in today’s child that you have in tomorrow’s man,” Akpabio said.

In his tribute, Gov. Umo Eno, described the late Eyiboh as a mother who symbolized resourceful and virtuousness.

Represented by his Political Adviser, Mr Godwin Ntukudeh, Eno said that Akwa Ibom would greatly miss her, saying, ” she nurtured young women in tailoring to make them self-reliant”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in attendance at the funeral were associates of the bereaved family and the political class in Akwa Ibom.(NAN)
